NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator Giveaway

 * This post is sponsored by NeilMed. All opinions are my own.

My daughter was crying because she couldn't drink her cup and breathe out of her nose at the same time like she normally could. She's also not old enough to know how to cough out phlegm or blow her nose. When I first received the NeilMed® Naspira® Nasal-Oral Aspirator from NeilMed I thought it was going to be so easy to use. When all three of us got sick with stuffy noses and coughing I realized then it was perfect timing to try out my box from NeilMed that I had just received prior. I have never used anything other than a regular bulb like the ones you use on newborns.

Comes with a mesh bag for storage.

Surprisingly she wasn't that upset about it being used on her. She was more curious than anything. She thought it was a toy. I was pleased with her reception of it.

I took the nasal aspirator and placed it as shown and tried to suck out the mucus. I couldn't figure it out. Why wasn't it working? I must have been doing something wrong. I attended a webinar on this product that neilmed put on. I learned that I just simply wasn't sucking long enough. If you aren't getting mucus then suck for around ten seconds. What is neat about this aspirator is that it comes with the hose that you suck through but you can remove it and just use the bulb. This way you can use it traditionally as a bulb or with the extra suction hose. The bulb is also transparent and clear so you can see exactly what you are doing as you are sucking. You can see immediately if it is working or not. At the end is a filter that you can change after each illness or as needed.
If you are still having trouble because there is thick mucus that doesn't want to come out than you can use NeilMed Pedia Mist Saline Spray. This will help break up the mucus so that you can suck it out. It is for ages 1 and up. Just insert the tip into your little ones nostriland press until it sprays. Once it is moist then repeat with the other nostril.

All parts are disconnected in this photo.
Cleansing:
After use you need to clean the bulb.  It is really easy to just take it apart and clean it because you can see anywhere its dirty. You can also sterilize it by boiling or by via microwave.  It came with 7 disposable filters which you use to make sure mucus doesn't enter the users mouth.
