Clock Safe Review

I received the clock safe from Mitaki as a sample to review.

I thought the Mitaki Clock Safe was a really neat product and wanted to check it out. I had not seen one like this before so I was intrigued. This Clock takes one AA battery. Which is not included. The clock measures 9.75" dia. x 2.5" so it is one of those standard looking clocks that you see just about everywhere. In offices and classrooms. It has a 2" compartment on the backside so some people say to cut a hole in your wall but I don't think that is necessary. I think you could mount this and not have to worry that someone thinks its a safe.

So you are probably wondering what all can you put in here. You can keep your money, meds or other valuables. Even jewelry. To me this makes perfect sense for someone who has roommates or a lot of people over and you need to just keep something safe just in case. You don't even necessarily have to mount this somewhere that is easily seen. Mount it in the garage or in your storage room where someone might not even see it. There is all kinds of weird possibilities that you could put this clock. Or keep an extra key in it for whatever. I think its nice to have an option to stash something. Plus its just a regular silver and white faced clock. It is so undercover it just blends in to the room in a very boring way. This is a plus of course.

Onto quality. While the design is really a cool idea the clock is made of a thinner plastic. The hinge is the only thing that keeps the two parts together and I do wish this was reinforced with a thicker plastic. But as long as it isn't handled repeatedly or roughly it should be ok.  This would be a good gift for someone who is into spies and covert things.

Onto Cost. The cost for a gift thats under $20 Bucks is pretty good. Right now its listed under $15. Not a bad cost for something that could be fun or useful depending on how you choose to use it.

You can find the clock Here

I received a sample of the Clock Safe from Mitaki in order to provide an honest review.

Mirrorvana Rectangular Makeup Mirror – 9.8″ x 7″

So excited to receive this Mirrorvana Vanity Makeup Mirror to sample and post an  honest review about it.

When I was a little girl my mom used to use this vanity mirror in her bedroom. I used to watch her do her makeup and her hair. I always wanted one. This vanity mirror from Mirrorvana is gorgeous. It reminds me of an older time when hair was done differently. So in one way it seems retro but in another it looks modern. It really depends on what decor you have and because its all mirror or chrome finish it will fit in anywhere.

Mirrorvana Mirror

This vanity makeup mirror is divine to look at. It is a rectangle at 9.8" x 7" and comes with a chrome base. The look is super sleak and goes with any decor modern or retro. It comes in two parts and you just screw the base into the mirror and you are done.

It is shipped really well and it does come in a box with the Mirrorvana logo on it so you can wrap it for gift giving or use it to store if you are moving. Keep the box if you think you might because it fits right in there.

There is a little stick at the bottom. You use this to angle and adjust the mirror without having to touch the mirror itself. That way you don't leave fingerprints all over it that you have to wipe off later. Really nice touch. If you don't have a vanity put it in your bathroom or bedside table. The base is weighted so the mirror isn't top heavy. So you don't have to worry about it tipping over.

Here you can see the mirror can completely flip the other way upside down. It also moves left and right. So you can angle this however you wish. You can also see the little stick that you move it with so you don't get your mirror dirty.

You can view you entire face and neck in the mirror so you don't have to hold a little compact and try to do your makeup anymore or lean into the bathroom sink to get close to the mirror. If you sit back from the mirror you can easily use this to style your hair if you are in a space that doesn't have a mirror.
Honestly I love it and it looks amazing. I think any lady young or old would love to have this mirror in their room. The edges of the mirror are angled and this adds a nice touch to the mirror.

Did you have any fun memories of your mom or anyone else with vanity mirrors? I'd love to hear it feel free to share with me below.

Check out the Mirrorvana Rectangle Vanity Mirror here.

NeilMed Naspira Nasal-Oral Aspirator Giveaway

 * This post is sponsored by NeilMed. All opinions are my own.

My daughter was crying because she couldn't drink her cup and breathe out of her nose at the same time like she normally could. She's also not old enough to know how to cough out phlegm or blow her nose. When I first received the NeilMed® Naspira® Nasal-Oral Aspirator from NeilMed I thought it was going to be so easy to use. When all three of us got sick with stuffy noses and coughing I realized then it was perfect timing to try out my box from NeilMed that I had just received prior. I have never used anything other than a regular bulb like the ones you use on newborns.

Comes with a mesh bag for storage.

Surprisingly she wasn't that upset about it being used on her. She was more curious than anything. She thought it was a toy. I was pleased with her reception of it.

I took the nasal aspirator and placed it as shown and tried to suck out the mucus. I couldn't figure it out. Why wasn't it working? I must have been doing something wrong. I attended a webinar on this product that neilmed put on. I learned that I just simply wasn't sucking long enough. If you aren't getting mucus then suck for around ten seconds. What is neat about this aspirator is that it comes with the hose that you suck through but you can remove it and just use the bulb. This way you can use it traditionally as a bulb or with the extra suction hose. The bulb is also transparent and clear so you can see exactly what you are doing as you are sucking. You can see immediately if it is working or not. At the end is a filter that you can change after each illness or as needed.
If you are still having trouble because there is thick mucus that doesn't want to come out than you can use NeilMed Pedia Mist Saline Spray. This will help break up the mucus so that you can suck it out. It is for ages 1 and up. Just insert the tip into your little ones nostriland press until it sprays. Once it is moist then repeat with the other nostril.

All parts are disconnected in this photo.
Cleansing:
After use you need to clean the bulb.  It is really easy to just take it apart and clean it because you can see anywhere its dirty. You can also sterilize it by boiling or by via microwave.  It came with 7 disposable filters which you use to make sure mucus doesn't enter the users mouth.

1byone 5GHz Wireless HDMI Streaming Media Player

* This post is sponsored by 1byone for the purposes of this review.

If you haven't already noticed I am really into streaming media. I'm always interested in new things that hit the market and if they are better than their competitor. This is the 1byone 5GHZ Wireless HDMI Streaming Media Player. It is similar to a Chromecast or Firestick but a tad different. It uses EZ Cast to stream from your phone , tablet or PC to your TV. A few years ago a kit to do this from PC to TV cost over $100. Now it is so much more affordable in the under $40 range for streaming sticks and other devices. I was interested to see how this compared to my other devices.

This mainly uses EZ Cast to mirror or stream the content. I tested this using my PC, Android phone and iPad2 tablet. Installation is rather easy. Plug in the HDMI stick into your TV. Plug the cord into the end of the stick and attached is the wifi dongle. Plug the other end into a power source.

This was tested with Android 4.4 and it streamed files already on my phone just fine. They streamed flawlessly just the sound was a bit low. But I also found out that the sound is also controlled by your phone so if it is not loud try turning up your phone volume. I couldn't get it to mirror apps which is what I wanted it is only compatible with some particular apps listed and if your phone has that capability. Or at least I couldn't figure it out.  I also had a few issues with my phone dropping the WIFI from EZ cast to my home WIFI connection. So make sure you have  your phone not on the "auto switch to optimized WIFI" option on your phone to avoid this. I did have a signal that wasn't as strong as my home WIFI which prompted this to be an issue. So if you are dropping the WIFI this could be the setting on your phone.

Tested with the iPad2 I had much better luck. I can use the airplay to stream with compatible apps and I can also mirror using airplay as well. Streaming Youtube or Twitch to TV was working fine. I didn't have any issues with movies already downloaded either. Mirroring I could watch myself play poker on the TV.  Or even my favorite farming app. I can see how this can be useful for training or demonstration videos or art classes using digital art apps.  My kids enjoy watching cartoons on  YouTube and it even lets you pre buffer ahead so it can stream better if you have a slow connection.

Tested with PC. I have a pretty slow PC and it wasn't fast enough to be able to buffer my videos from PC to TV. I recently ordered parts to upgrade soon so I am hoping after that I will be able to stream from TV to PC. If you are using this to share documents or images on the TV then this will work just fine. This does have available other apps to cast such as Miracast.

I can see how this can be useful situations where you don't have access to the WIFI such as a hotel. You can just use this and stream as long as you have access to the HDMI port. Setting up Chromecast requires access to the home network first. I currently use this in the room when  the ROKU isn't working or when we want to watch home movies on the TV. It does what it says it does but the interface isn't the most user friendly of them all but after taking a while to read the manual I have figured it out. I do suggest reading the full manual and not the quick get started manual. I did have some errors where the EZ cast app crashed but that could have been the app or my phone/iPad. It also has an option to use in the car but I did not test that out.

Does Purex plus Clorox 2 Really Work?

The Purex brand provided me with a sample of Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent in exchange for a product review. However all the opinions expressed here are my own.

I love it when I get a care package from Purex. Purex plus Clorox 2 just came out in stores and I have a wonderful chance for 3 winners to try it out free by winning a coupon from me. Purex plus Clorox 2  is a new detergent that is made to work on 100 stains. Not only can you do some serious stain fighting  but you can also use it on colors and it's bleach free. This comes in two scents Original Fresh and Sunny Linen. I was sent the Original Fresh for testing purposes. Some main features are below.

  • 3 Stain-Fighting Enzymes
  • Safe For Colors
  • Works on 100 stains
  • 2 Fragrances: Original Fresh & Sunny Linen
  • Bleach Free

Purex plus Clorox 2 contains 3 stain-fighting enzymes to remove those 100 stains. Including chocolate and tomato sauce, grass and blood, ice cream and BBQ sauce. I'm sure this must include Ketchup which is probably my favorite condiment. Many more stains to follow. Which leads me to my next project.

I just got my daughter a new top. It was the second time she had worn it. Unfortunately it was covered in chocolate milk. I washed it right away when we got home but it didnt matter. It was stained and washing it did not do anything but make it stand out even more against the white top. She couldn't wear it looking like that. So I decided it needed some serious stain removal. I followed the initial instructions to pre-treat the stain with the detergent and rub it in. I decided that I wanted to get a bit more serious than that and I soaked it in water overnight just to make sure that it would remove anything that remained. The chocolate milk had actually gone down the shirt on the inside so there were stains you didn't see on the outside but were clearly visible on the inside. So I treated both the inside and the outside to a nice rub.

Purex suggests to pre-treat the stain with Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent into the fabric and letting it sit for 5 minutes.

So did it WORK?

And

Not only do the results speak for themselves but the before picture was taken after washing it with a different detergent. The stain remained. So Purex plus Clorox 2 was used and the stain is basically gone. And the top is whiter too. Now she can wear it again and the outfit isn't lost due to stains. To be honest I did not expect this result and was surprised at how it came out. I'm a believer now. Do you want to try your own stain removing projects? Enter below to win a coupon for your own Purex plus Clorox 2 detergent.

Aposon watches

I was provided a sample Aposon watch in exchange for an honest review.

Function:

This watch has four face dials.  Two on the top are a compass and a thermometer. They are both for decoration only as the description states so they are for looks. I noticed that the compass did not work but I confirmed this via their page. The bottom two dials do work and are for dual time zones.

Looks:

The looks of this watch are super cool. The PU watch band is really nice and does resemble leather on the outside. The base is a gunmetal gray that can look silver or black depending on the angle  you are looking at. It looks very interesting and unlike any watch I have seen.

Wearability and Comfort:

The watch is made for an 8" wrist at a minimum. Anything smaller such as a 7" will not fit because the base of the watch is very large so a larger wrist is recommended.  It is definitely a watch of size and the base covers most of the space.

Watch Band:

The watch band is nice for a PU band. It resembles leather and has a nice looking white stitch to it. It can fit smaller wrists and larger wrists. Even down to 7" if you wanted to.

Value:

At under $15 this watch is totally worth it. Its got a really cool tech/steampunk vibe to it. Very unique. Dual dial faces on the watch so you can know what time it is across the world. Came with a working battery.

You can check out the watch on Amazon HERE.

Amber Tick and Flea Collar for Dogs and Cats

* This post is sponsored by Amber Crown.

I got this for my cat Indiana. When I ordered it I didn't know how it was made. It is strung together with a strong cord that has each amber bead strung onto it. It has a genuine leather collar clasp in the middle. My cats collar size is 11" so I ordered the 10-11" And it fits him perfect just a bit of the leather hangs off a bit too long and I'm considering trimming it off. I probably could have ordered the 8-10" and had it on the larger setting and that would have worked fine as well.

The amber is raw cut, so it is not polished but a rougher finish on each bead. I guess this helps the amber work. The colors of the amber range from light to dark beads and it looks really authentic. While I purchased this for my cat I probably would not put this on my dog as she is extremely active and has broken strong leather collars before so I don't think this would hold up to her playful behavior.  But if this is just for an older or relaxed dog or a cat it would be fine for that purpose.

The collar looks really expensive on and looks really fancy on my orange cat. It matches his coat and looks really earthy on him. He doesn't seem to mind it and he's been running around with it on now for a while. It needs to be raw amber because whatever amber releases the fleas don't like it. But once the oils from your cat get onto the amber you will need to wash it in cold water every 2 weeks. This is similar to amber teething necklaces. I wonder if I wear one of these if I will repel fleas and not get bit haha. For some reason fleas just love me.

As for fleas I haven't seen one on him at all since I got it. I am not sure if that is because of the collar or not. But as it is getting warmer the flea eggs start to hatch and he's in danger of attracting them. I am going to keep this on Indiana as the flea season begins and I will update his progress on staying Flea Free.

If you are interested in trying this alternative collar for your pet click HERE.

Willow And Everett Pour Over Coffee Dripper

I received a free product sample from Willow And Everett in exchange for an honest review.

I am a daily coffee drinker. At least two cups a day. I have been experimenting with alternate ways to brew my coffee since I discovered that my Keurig was at times not delivering the full flavor of my coffee into my cup. I figured this out by using other older methods of brewing coffee. The same exact coffee would taste completely different. Using this Pour Over Coffee method it allows oils and nutrients to pass through and into your cup of coffee. Now you will get the full flavor of your coffee grounds using this method. What I loved was that I didn't have any waste to throw away like a K-cup. It is also easier to clean than my french press. It is one piece, and it goes with any cup as long as it is wide enough to hold the dripper. Read along below for more tips on using a pour over coffee dripper.

Tip #1 Don't use Tap water. Use filtered water. It makes sure there is nothing that can mask the taste of your coffee.

Tip #2 Don't use paper filters. Using paper filters can pass off that paper taste to your coffee. This filter doesn't require paper filters, so you get just the taste of your coffee.

Tip #3 Grind your coffee fine for strong brews. The smaller the grind the more flavor you are going to release. If you like your coffee more mild do a coarser grind on your coffee beans.

Tip #4 Pour in the middle and slowly around the edges. Stop. Wait 30 seconds for your coffee to degas. Then pour more water. Stop. Wait 30 seconds. Then pour the remaining water in the above described manner.

Tip #5 Use more or less coffee depending on how much water you are using and how many cups you are making. Generally for a 6 oz cup I use 21 grams.

Tip #6 Keep your water ready to go in the morning with your dripper on  your cup ready to go to get your coffee faster in the a.m. Closest thing to a set timer I can get!

Ultimately I found that using the pour over coffee dripping method to be the most flavorful way to brew my coffee. It also leaves me with the least parts to clean! Have you ever used a pour over coffee dripper? Let me know in the comments below.

Go Away Funny Mug Review

*This post contains sponsored links by Got Me Tipsy.

I think I personally get a kick out of this more than anybody else. I constantly say

"Just keep it full, Keep adding more to it, Oh now its empty better fix that! "

Or my personal favorite " Can't you read what the mug says?"

But its still funny every time. Taking this to the office could be a total riot. I often wonder and make up my own 4th line for when I top off the mug all the way to the brim.

  • No
  • Nope
  • You Can't Be Serious
  • Not One Step Closer
  • I Know Kung Fu

 And many more...

Does it hold enough coffee?

Yep! Honestly this mug is huge. Its 13 oz so its actually the equivalent of a pretty big huge cup of coffee vs my regular 8 oz coffee mug. It is clear so that you can see what level your coffee temper indicator is.

Does the writing on the sides come off?

Nope.  It is printed on both sides. It is printed onto the glass and I have been washing it lots and it has not come off so it seems to be on there pretty good. I have used both hot and cold coffee with this mug.

Can I put Hot Coffee in this glass mug?

Yep you sure can! It is tempered so it holds hot coffee just as good as iced coffee. You can also put it in the dishwasher and the microwave.

The Bright Outdoors Safety Lights Review

This post contains sponsored links from The Bright Outdoors*

Safety Lights by The Bright Outdoors

If you regularly bike or walk at dusk or night than you will want to carry a flashlight with you. But in emergencies and while working out holding onto a flashlight can be cumbersome. I freed up my hands with an adaptable kit from The Bright Outdoors. At first when I received them I thought the lights were rather small, but this is important. If you are running or biking in light clothing, you cannot have a heavy or large light attach to your clothing. These lights attach to your bike, your clothing, or directly to you.

It comes with 3 ways to attach the lights.

1. By the light themselves. It has a clip on the back of the light.
2. By rubber attachments that can go right onto your bike handles.
3. By adjustable straps with velcro that virtually attach to anything.

These lights are also the perfect amount of light. Just enough to see your surrounding area and not too much so your neighbors think someone is casing the house to break in. They are so light I didn't even notice I was wearing it. The velcro straps are stretchy adjustable so they are very convenient for attaching other things as well, like attaching a light to a water bottle.

This kit also includes a charging USB cable for both lights. So you can charge them both at the same time instead of one at a time. These lights do not take batteries so you simply recharge them each time you need to.

One light is black and the other is red. The lights have 4 settings. One click and it is a white light, click it again and it is a white blinking light. Click it once more and it is a red light. Once again and its a blinking red light. One more click and it turns the light off. The red light is nice for night riding for minimal lighting without disturbing anyone around you. It is low key and still gives you enough light to avoid a rock.

You can find these safety lights by going here http://thebrightoutdoors.com/safety/
